Sepia-toned lovin’ | Josh & Haley Engaged + It’s wedding weekend!

First of all, let me just say that it is truly 2:16 in the A.M. and I am blogging. Why you ask? Hmmm….it might have something to do with just how busy our little business and life have become lately and our sweet, precious little (almost) one-year-old Nona Mae is off with her Nonnie (Trav’s mom) for the weekend while we get to spend the entire day with these lovelies while they get hitched! So, all that being said, I was about to post a little Facebook post about how very excited we for the wedding tomorrow and then realized their engagement session was never blogged! Oh dear! I do believe that was around the time that this very site was being created from the ground up, so there are actually several posts and sessions that fell through the blogging “cracks” through the past year. Yep, that’s right, I’m NOT perfect! Ha! Imagine that ;)
All joking aside, we are delighted to show up tomorrow and be around such amazing people all day and capture their sweetness. I know that we are truly in for a treat because one thing really stands out in my mind from the very first consultation that we ever had together. I asked them what they envisioned for their wedding ceremony and they said “worshipful.” Isn’t that just beautiful? It’s very easy to get caught up in every little prop, detail and other “pretty” thing that I can get in front of my camera as a photographer on days such as weddings, but they really brought me back down to earth for a moment. Their wedding day will indeed be beautil, different, creative and awesome, just to name a few choice adjectives, but when all is said and done, what really matters is the Covenant that has been created.

So, here’s to you guys! We can’t wait to see you!

Andi + Wes | It’s wedding weekend!

So, it’s finally here! Andi and Wes are gettin’ hitched this weekend and we can’t wait to capture every little detail! {Pray for this not to happen—rain, rain, go away!…)  So, I realized the other day that we never posted any images  their engagement session on here. This year has been a whirl-wind and there are actually several sessions that were never posted. I will try to get to those soon…but for now, enjoy this super-fun and out-of-the-box couple’s love :)

Peace, hugs & crazy love,

xoxo Chels

Video Premiere: Goldfingers and Team Building

Much to our enjoyment we had the opportunity to tag along with the Goldfingers crew for a day of team building fun. The founder, Bill Dorminy, contacted us to document the day and it’s events. This was our first video outside of weddings and we were very eager to jump in and take on this project. Getting to know Bill and to see how close him and all his employees were was very inspiring and made our job enjoyable and easy as pie ( or myabe chicken in this case ).

Laughter & Smiles | Dothan, Ala. Family Photographer

Laughter and smiles abound! This session was so much fun because everyone was just so laid back and casual. The images were taken in my Great Aunt Carol’s back yard here in Dothan. She had asked a while back if I would do a session for her of her granchildren since they would both be in town. Of course I said “Yes!” Some of my very favorite images are the ones directly below where I managed to get three lovely women (a.k.a. Mom, daughter, and granddaughter—3 generations!) all in on the photo-taking time. It was so fun to see them all laughing and carrying on. It was a fun time indeed.
On a personal note, I have very fond memories of my sweet Aunt. We spent a lot of time together while I was growing up. She would do crazy art projects with me, let me eat spinach out of the can ( I know, this is strange that I found that exciting!) make yummy food, take me shopping, sew clothes for me, and also take me to church. I used to call her Martha Stewart because she has always had the most beautiful home and just always seems to know what to do about everything. (By the way, this was pre-martha-going-to-jail-Martha!) She’s always been there for me and I am so glad I have her in my family. Love you Aunt C! ;)

peace, hugs & crazy love!

xoxo, Chels
